Our Story
In early 2021, I found myself at a crossroads—forced to sink or swim. I started working as a subcontractor gardener in both the commercial and residential sectors, with absolutely no experience in running a business. I didn’t even know what a quote or an invoice was.
I never studied business in school, so it truly was a “sink or swim” moment. But as I adapted, I quickly realized I was far more capable than I’d initially thought. Over the next two years, I built a full-time business from the ground up.
While I was proud of the small milestones I achieved, I sought more knowledge and experience. I took on a new sales job where I could learn about marketing, advertising, and other aspects of business that I hadn’t explored before. Yet, despite all the growth, I still found myself asking, “What is my purpose?”
That’s when I knew I wanted to build something more meaningful—something I was passionate about that could also give back to the community. This led to the creation of our brand, with the motto “Brand with Purpose.” I wanted to find a way to combine my love for what I do with a greater mission of doing good, specifically targeting the communities of South-East Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.
At 18, I worked as a screen printer, primarily in the prep room. During that time, I met other brand owners and had the opportunity to learn from their experiences. Their stories inspired me and made me realize that I, too, was capable of building something bigger than myself—something that could leave the world a better place than I found it.
That’s our goal at SYMNS Clothing —to build something meaningful, to give back, and to leave a lasting impact on the world around us.
